So I have called my doctor again this week and he was out of the office again yesterday, but I talked to another nurse. She agreed with my self-diagnosis (although, to be fair, I just said I was ovulating on day 21 or 22.) She said if I want to try Clomid that they will have the prescription waiting for me when I come in for my day 3 tests. You see, Clomid could possibly help me to release an egg, or even multiple eggs, earlier in my cycle so that they have a better chance of being viable. The risk of twins is 10%, which is a gamble I'm willing to take.
My question is, can it really be that easy? I've asked 4 other doctors for Clomid and have always been told absolutely not. The nurses haven't actually talked to the doctor about this idea, so I'm not counting on it until the prescription is in my hand. Of course, I am at a fertility clinic now so maybe they hand out the fertility drugs like they hand out cheese at Costco. I hope so.
